What is Festival One?

Festival One is multi-day Christian Festival held at Mystery Creek, Hamilton on Auckland & Waikato Anniversary Weekend.

Festival One is in its fourth year and has a broad range of fantastic artists, lots of opportunities for the creative arts and a few other surprises.

Our goal is to create community in the church through music, art and culture. This will be achieved through organic growth, an annually progressing teaching curriculum and outstanding music and arts.

WHAT’S ON FOR THE GROMS

Kids Programme

They all grow up so fast! Are your young’uns ready to fly the nest (temporarily, under supervision, in a super-fun and safe space)? We’ve got you covered. With a Kids’ Programme for your small ones (5 – 10-year-olds) and a Toddlers’ Programme for your extra-small ones (0 – 4-year-olds), all of Festival One’s little humans will have a space to have the time of their lives AND learn about God’s awesome love—which is pretty much the same thing.

Toddlers Programme

The Toddlers’ Programme will be your good ol’ drop-and-go space, held in its own marquee (next to HQ and close to the One Arena entrance) on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 9am – 12pm. They will need to bring a water bottle, but we’ll provide an allergy-safe morning tea for our precious, butter-fingered toddlers. Parents, you’ll need to stay on call in case your child needs you – especially for those nappy changes! If nappies need changing, we’ll flick you a text.

Registration

You can pre-register from 3 – 4:50pm on Friday night in the Toddlers’ Marquee, or the walk-up registration is open from 8:30 – 9am on the day. Spaces are limited, so please be punctual!

COMPETITIONS ON SITE

Photo

Get ready to strike your ‘light’ bulb moment! This year’s photo comp theme is all about illumination! Gods light shines everywhere and through everything, but where do you see Gods light shine? Is it through the first glimpse of a sunrise? Or the smile of a stranger? Get creative and get snapping! Cash prizes to be won. Simply snap your picture and upload it to Instagram using the hashtag #F1PhotoComp2018 and #Under16 or #Over16 so we know what age category you’re in, and remember for us to see your picture, your Instagram must be on public. Entries close 3pm Sunday afternoon.

FIlm

Bringing the books to life – lights, camera, action! Show us your video interpretation of the verse – “I can do all this, through him who gives me strength,” (Philippians 4:13). Express what your ‘all this’ moment is – whether it’s entertaining the masses, serving others with some campsite compassion, or showing off your hidden talents, – we want to see it! Amazing prizes to be won including … Simply record and upload your film to Instagram using the hashtag #F1FilmComp2018 and #Under16 or #Over16 so we know what age category you’re in, and remember for us to see your video, your Instagram must be on public. Entries close 3pm Sunday afternoon.

Campsite

Think that your campsite is the most creative, has the best community, the greatest lighting, or is the best crew site – well have we got the comp for you! Announcing the 2018 Campsite Competitions! Last year we saw a mass of bunting and fairy lights, a Mediterranean themed marquee, a secret garden, a sea-side shack, and more – so this year we are expecting great things! Get your campsites primed and ready, cash prizes and trophies await!

Are there rules? Where do I find them?

Easy. We call it a Code of Conduct and if we all live by it, everyone will have a sweet time at Festival One. 

Can I get a discount?

We’ve got a few different discounts available – see below! More pricing information is available at iTicket too. We know families come in a few different shapes and sizes, so here are our family discount pricing structures.

Family – One Adult +
Select one adult and at least 3 children/student tickets and we will give you (12% OFF the total ticket price (excl booking and transaction fees). Family tickets are only applicable to immediate family members.

Family – Two Adult +
Select two adults and at least 2 children/student tickets and we will give you (12% OFF the total ticket price (excl booking and transaction fees). Family tickets are only applicable to immediate family members.

NZ Deaf Community Special Offer
We’ve liaised with the NZ Deaf Community to provide a discount code that is available for a limited time. We believe strongly in making the Festival accessible for as many as possible and so most of our venues offer sign language translators.

Group discounts/how do I get a group to Festival One?
Become a Festival One Ambassador by getting your unique code from iTicket and sharing it with your friends. Get 20+ of them to enter your code when they purchase their passes and voila, you have a complimentary Festival One ticket.

What about Camping & Caravans?

Can I bring my caravan or book a powered site?
You sure can! All pricing for powered sites and caravans is available on iTicket and going fast! Get in quick.

Can we reserve a space for our group?
Absolutely! Email our groups team at groups@festival-one.co.nz before the 2nd of December 2017 and they will sort that out for you.

How can I get early access on Thursday night to setup?

If you have a large group (100+) you will be issued 2 x temporary vehicle passes for 4 representatives of your group to bring in gear at 6pm on Thursday night. The purpose of these vehicle passes are just to drop off gear, and the 4 representatives must have had their wristbands sent to them prior to arriving at the festival. Email groups@festival-one.co.nz before the 2nd of December 2016 to arrange this.

My church has given me a different code, what’s that about?

Your church already has a Festival One ambassador! Some churches we’ve been in touch with are coming to Festival One as a church camp, so they have a different code system and benefits! Check with your church’s ambassador what the details are, or if you’re not sure, feel free to email our team at info@festival-one.co.nz and we’ll let you know what’s going on!
