What is Festival One?
Festival One is a celebration – a celebration of art, music, creativity and community, centred around the Christian faith. It’s about what it is like to be part of a large family, enjoying each other’s company, being inspired by great conversations, and celebrating creativity with outstanding music from artists of many genres. It is about having a rhythm to each day – at times full on, other times chilling with friends and enjoying good food, or even a free BBQ on Saturday for the whole Festival whānau! It’s about seminars on a whole range of topics that invite and encourage discussion, and then more late night conversations! It is about discovering that exquisite band or artist that you have never heard of, but who is communicating and playing with great skill. It is a place where people of all ages can feel safe – drug and alcohol free – and running to values that respect the sacredness of human life. It is about meeting the people camping next to you and forming lifelong friendships.
And most of all, it is about celebrating the Christian faith which is the shared set of beliefs and ideals that brings this whole Festival together – fellow pilgrims on a journey towards the God of the Bible, and His Son, Jesus Christ.
Mystery Creek, Hamilton NZ. Auckland & Waikato Anniversary Weekend, 27th – 30th January 2017.

An incredible team of volunteers help create the fabric and facilitate the heart of Festival One. Not to mention that without them, we wouldn’t even have a Festival! So, if you see our crew around site, be sure to give them a massive hi-five!
They all grow up so fast! Are your young’uns ready to fly the nest (temporarily, under supervision, in a super-fun and safe space)? We’ve got you covered. With a Kids’ Programme for your small ones (5 – 10-year-olds) and a Toddlers’ Programme for your extra-small ones (0 – 4-year-olds), all of Festival One’s little humans will have a space to have the time of their lives AND learn about God’s awesome love—which is pretty much the same thing.
The Toddlers’ Programme will be your good ol’ drop-and-go space, held in its own marquee (next to HQ and close to the One Arena entrance) on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 9am – 12pm. They will need to bring a water bottle, but we’ll provide an allergy-safe morning tea for our precious, butter-fingered toddlers. Parents, you’ll need to stay on call in case your child needs you – especially for those nappy changes! If nappies need changing, we’ll flick you a text.
You can pre-register from 3 – 4:50pm on Friday night in the Toddlers’ Marquee, or the walk-up registration is open from 8:30 – 9am on the day. Spaces are limited, so please be punctual!
The Kids’ Programme will be in The Fort on Saturday and Sunday from 9am – 3pm, with a break for lunch to regroup with the family. Kiddies, please bring your sunhat, water bottle and a snack for morning tea, and get ready for a jam-packed fun time! With puppets, challenges, electives, visiting bands and Tribal Wars, this is a great time to make new friends and meet up with old friends. It’s meant for 5 – 10-year-olds, but for 11 or 12-year-olds that have major fear-of-missing-out (we don’t blame you!), you are welcome to join in.
You can pre-register from 3 – 4:50pm on Friday night in The Fort, or the walk-up registration is open from 8:30 – 9am on the day. Spaces are limited, so please be punctual!

Frequently Asked Questions
Code of Conduct
Festival One runs to a few guidelines to make sure everyone has a good time.
You can find out more about these guidelines here.
Parents, the Festival crew try to enforce these as best they can. We’ve got your back.
In 2015, we introduced a drop-off zone. In 2016, we had that same drop-off zone, but brought parking right on site. We’ll continue trying to make access to site as easy and convenient as possible for 2017, so say goodbye to the days where you had to bring in a special wheelbarrow for your gear; we’ve done our best to make your lives easier.
Don’t worry, you hard-out campers who bring trailers will still be able to drive right in with your vintage couches and pallets.
Camping & Groups
Festival One is about community – and you need to be around for most of the days to make the most of our temporary community! So, we love, and promote camping for anyone who is able to. Camping is included in the ticket price – no extra charge! Sites are claimed on a first-come-first-serve basis. For the prime spots right in the heart of the grounds, you’ll have to come as early as you can to secure one.
However, if you’re a large group, we can try and hook you up with some reserved space. Chat to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are a cash-free Festival.
This means that when you purchase your ticket from iTicket here there will be an option to have your wristband sent to you, so you can swiftly walk straight onto site when you arrive – no queues for you!
These will begin being sent out to you at the end of November 2016.
Each camper needs to have an AWOP wristband for entry, and it is also your wallet for the weekend. They can be topped up at multiple points around the grounds, and include a small one-off top-up fee; we accept both cash and EFTPOS, but sorry, no credit cards. Any money leftover on your wristbands can be refunded at the end of camp.
