Bryden came to Festival One last year – and had a ball! No, not as in dancing, although there was some of that spirit around. Just plain fun! Fun talking with people, listening to their stories. Fun discerning the Holy Spirit moving in their lives, bringing Jesus and His message of life and love more into focus. Fun learning new songs and new ways of worship – all unto the Father’s Glory. And over the Festival weekend, he is one of our Sages in Residence. Meaning, that he is dedicated to having deep and enriching conversations with anyone who would like to.

Bryden is an Anglican minister, and has been ordained for nearly 40 years, living and ministering in a number of countries: England, Zimbabwe, Australia, and finally returning to New Zealand in the year 2000. Now based in Christchurch with his medical wife Cathy (all four children have flown the nest), he also runs a commercial farming business, breeding and finishing beef cattle, sheep and deer, in North and Mid Canterbury. Bryden still finds time to keep up with his reading of theology. Loving God with one’s mind is vital for our day, he reckons.

So, if you run into him during Festival, pin him down for a solid chat. He loves nothing more than to dig deeply into the things of God-in-Christ.
